Academy Series: Component Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM)

On December 2 at 7 PM IST, we shall be hosting a session with Akshay Ballal, Chief Product Officer at Fabheads, on the topic: “Component Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM)“.

Fabheads specialises in the composites part manufacturing sector and they have gone on to become the first company in Asia with in-house developed fiber 3D printing capabilities. Through his experience, Akshay will be providing examples on how choice of materials and processes affect the quality of the final product. Akshay will also be covering design philosophy for making strong, optimized and easy-to-produce additive-manufactured parts.

Akshay Ballal Biography:

Akshay graduated with a B.E in Mechanical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra in 2017. He currently works at Fabheads Automation as a Chief Product Officer. At Fabheads, Akshay has headed design and development of carbon-fiber composite printing technologies and has also built several 3D printers leveraging the Continuous Fiber printing technology.
