Ather Energy as Title Host of the 2nd FSEV Concept Challenge

We would like to welcome Ather Energy as the Title Host of the 2nd Annual FS Electric Vehicle Concept Challenge. Co-founded in 2013 by IIT graduates – Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain – , Ather Energy is one of the few hardware startups in India1. The company has built India’s first truly intelligent electric scooters and is backed by the founders of Flipkart, Tiger Global and Hero Motocorp1.
As a part of the sponsorship, Ather Energy shall be hosting the challenge comprising of 11 participating teams from Maharashtra, Karnataka and Rajasthan on Sunday, October 7, at their head office in IBC Knowledge Park, Bengaluru. The purpose of this concept challenge is to familiarize young engineers to the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry in India through evaluation of EV design, components procurement strategy and team management plan. The challenge also provides interested participants the opportunity to prepare more than a year ahead of the Formula Bharat 2020 Electric category where teams will have to compete with a formula-style electric vehicle built from scratch.

As a company, Ather Energy has faced the struggle to work with vendors in India’s automotive industry to mass-produce their products’ components that have been mostly designed from scratch2.
