[IMPORTANT NOTICE!] Dangerous practice at testing, working on car will result in disqualification

Hello Teams,

We hope that you are excited and all prepared for arriving to the Formula Bharat 2019 competition. Over the past week, posts on social media have been frequent, showcasing teams’ testing practices, car shipping, travel diaries to Coimbatore etc. While some teams have taken measures to ensure safe testing practices, many are in violation of Rule A6.4. This is concerning as these teams show indifference to the lives of those present in the area.

Hence we would like to remind you that Rule A6.4.7 is under effect and teams engaged in unsafe practices will be disqualified immediately. The extent of these activities include and extend to(and is not limited to):

• Testing the vehicle on public roads / highways
• Testing the vehicle with no safety measures taken to separate / distance public
• Working on the vehicle without safety gear, especially for activities such as grinding, drilling, welding etc.
• Pushing the vehicle on the public highway outside Kari to the workshop.< If you wish to use the private workshop outside Kari to work on your vehicle (for those who have not cleared Tech Inspection / not applicable for EV teams), please arrange for appropriate transport for your vehicle between the speedway and the workshop. Any team seen pushing their car on the side of the highway will be disqualified immediately.

We would like to re-iterate. We understand that you are passionate about Formula Student and that you have spent your every moment this past year preparing for the competition. BUT that does not validate risking your own or anyone else’s life in the process. The organizing team has been in your shoes – we are all alumni of the same program. We have had our fair share of failures and successes and many of us are fortunate enough to have made better decisions which have not negatively impacted our future. We wish the same for you as well.
