How are A, B, C Teams categories determined?

This determination is made by document reviewers and leads, based on a culmination of individual teams document submissions, car pictures submission and running car video submission.

C-Teams :

Teams in this category have either submitted unsatisfactory submissions, missed key submission deadlines or require major modifications to be done on their vehicle to pass initial technical scrutiny. Teams on this list will be informed latest by December 9th, so that they can make the appropriate arrangements to arrive at the venue on January 25th. A Pre-Tech checklist shall be provided as well upon notification and C-Teams must ensure that items on the checklist are fulfilled before attending the competition, in order to have the opportunity to complete other Technical Inspection events.

C-Teams shall undergo Pre-Tech of the checklist provided at their pits between January 25 and January 27. C Teams that have adequately addressed all items on the checklist, shall be allowed to continue into the rest of the Technical Inspection events. C-Teams that have not addressed all items on the checklist by Friday January 27, shall not be allowed to move further into other Technical Inspections and hence, the Dynamic Events.

C-Teams may participate in Static events such as Design, Cost and Business Presentations, even if their vehicle has not yet passed Pre-Tech.

B-Teams :

Teams in this category have either failed to submit a running car video submission or require a few minor modifications to be done on their vehicle to pass initial technical scrutiny. Teams on this list will be informed latest by December 9th.

B-Teams may arrive at the venue either on January 25th from 2 PM onwards or on January 26. B-Teams may go directly to the Technical Scutineering area to begin the required inspections on January 26.

A-Teams :

Teams in this category have either no fixes required or they require a few minor modifications to be done on their vehicle to pass initial technical scrutiny. Teams on this list will be informed latest by December 9th.

A-Teams may arrive at the venue either on January 25th from 2 PM onwards or on January 26. A-Teams may go directly to the Technical Scutineering area to begin the required inspections on January 26.
