Formula Bharat at FS World Council
2 min readOn August 12, 2017, Formula Bharat’s Event Manager, Cathy D’Souza and Rules Lead, Mahek Mody, had the opportunity to represent the Indian Formula Student event at the annual World Council meet hosted by Formula Student Germany (FSG). The meeting was chaired by officials at FSG, including Ludwig Vollrath (Board – External Relations), Sebastian Seewaldt (New Rules) and Daniel Ahrens (Operative Team).
The purpose of the Formula Student World Council meet is to branch all international Formula Student competitions to follow the same set of guidelines and rules, and to learn from each events’ strengths and weaknesses. Present at the 2017 meet were the organizers of FS Germany, FS Spain, FS UK, FS Japan, FS Czech, FS East (Hungary), FS Austria, FSAE China, FSAE Italy, Formula SAE (USA) and Formula North (Canada). Formula Bharat had the opportunity to present the FB2017 Post-Event Report. This was an amazing opportunity to network with the organizers of all these events and learn how to improve the competition going forward.
Discussions included the newly added Driverless category, the current separation of the Formula SAE and Formula Student rule book, a possibility of hosting a separate website for common registrations and document submission portal and non-conflicting event dates for the European competitions.
With the second consecutive Formula Bharat competition which shall be taking place in January, Formula Bharat hopes to enter its results into the Formula Student World Rankings hosted by Daniel Mazur of FSG.
